Edith Butler: Canadian Recording Artist from the Canada Post
Edith Butler was born Marie Nicole Butler to a musically-inclined family. She began her career in the 60s. However, she didn’t start as a performer just yet. She chose to teach in a school and spent her weekends performing in certain locations. By 1969, she had her master’s degree in the ethnography of Acadia. She is an alumna of Laval University. Thereafter, her career in the music industry has started to go on a roll.
Years later, Edith Butler has started gaining awards and recognition for her tremendous talent. For her many contributions in the industry, the Canada Post has decided to honor Edith Butler’s achievements by featuring her in the Canadian Recording Artist second series. She is to be featured alongside Tom Connors, Robert Charlebois, and my favorite Bryan Adams.
